Adult Adoption Working Group

This group was organized by NTL and borne out of the work it has done supporting people who are interested in formal adoption after the age of 18.  The objective of this working group is to provide an overview of the existing process for legal adult adoption and to make recommendations to various bodies for amendments, reforms and changes to facilitate a more effective process. It is composed of former legal counsel from Children’s Aid Societies, a private practice lawyer, staff from the ACO’s Never Too Late Project, adoption staff from Children’s Aid Societies, a private adoption practitioner and individuals with lived experience in adult adoption (adoptive parents and adult adoptees) and provides perspectives and recommendations from our collective experiences.
