Adoption Resources Databank
What is the Adoption Resources Databank?
The databank is a sophisticated and effective matching tool designed to collect extensive data, e.g. over 120 criteria, and support comprehensive matching of families with children with complex needs and requirements who need forever families. To learn more about our Intelligent Matching Engine, click here.
Who has access?
Adoption professionals in Ontario have access to the databank for both AdoptReady families and waiting children for whom adoption is being sought. Families can apply for the databank but do not have access due to sensitive and confidential information. Workers and practitioners will manage a family’s registry, update their information and close their registry, when required.
What is the purpose?
The databank can be used to automatically generate potential matches of children. Match reports are sent from the databank monthly to workers and practitioners, who may contact families to explore suitable matches.
How do I apply for the databank?
In Ontario once families complete their SAFE Homestudy and PRIDE training they are considered AdoptReady. AdoptReady families are able to apply for the Adoption Resources Databank. To apply you can go to your AdoptOntario account information, and check off “I would like to apply for the databank”—an email with instructions will be sent to you. Or you can complete this form (download).
