What is Nurturing Identity?
Our cultures’ stories, food, smells and songs fill our hearts and ground us as we go through life. Nurturing Identity features Black/multi-racial children who require families who share their ethnic/racial identity. When a child gains the opportunity to develop a strong sense of self they are better equipped to navigate their surroundings and the world. As African Canadian children are over-represented in the child welfare system at five times their representation in the population, it is essential to support them by providing them with a sense of belonging. Join us to learn more about these amazing children.

In preparation for Nurturing Identity, we welcome you to watch free on-demand webinars on Parenting Children Who Have Experienced Trauma and The Importance of Siblings.
What to Expect at an Online Adoption Event
At an Online Adoption Event, you will learn more about children, youth or sibling groups who are seeking adoptive parent(s), as well as information and resources about adoption. A presentation will be led by an AdoptOntario Clinical Coordinator who will be accompanied by the children/youths’ adoption workers. They will provide you with information about the children/youths’ interests, personality, needs, supports, and what an adoptive family would look like for these children or youth. In addition, you will also have the opportunity to hear from and ask questions to either an adoption professional or adoptive parent(s) regarding their experiences within adoption.
