The Adoption Council of Ontario provides specialized training and education for all those touched by adoption and permanency journeys. There is a framework for understanding adoption and permanency journeys and all those living these journeys can benefit from this knowledge. In preparation for Uniquely Us, we welcome you to watch free on-demand webinars on FASD (Part 1 and Part 2) The Importance of Siblings and Parenting Children Who Have Experienced Trauma.
What to Expect at an Online Adoption Event
At an Online Adoption Event, you will learn more about children, youth or sibling groups who are seeking adoptive parent(s), as well as information and resources about adoption. A presentation will be led by an AdoptOntario Clinical Coordinator who will be accompanied by the children/youths’ adoption workers. They will provide you with information about the children/youths’ interests, personality, needs, supports, and what an adoptive family would look like for these children or youth. In addition, you will also have the opportunity to hear from and ask questions to either an adoption professional or adoptive parent(s) regarding their experiences within adoption.
