Pathways Essentials – Fall 2026

Pathways to Permanence is a multi-sessional psycho-educational program

About:

We are always looking at new ways to deliver our Pathways program, to best serve the community. After taking into consideration some of the feedback that we have received over the years, we are looking at offering a more compact version that will allow for a more flexible experience, with less than half of the original in-class hours and some self-paced learning.

Eligibility:

This Pathways is funded by the Ministry of Children, Community and Social Services, for adoptive parents (including parents pre adoption finalization) or are foster-to-adopt parents, who have adopted (or be fostering-to-adopt) through a Children’s Aid Society.  

We also offer Pathways for Kinship Caregivers, as well as a Pathways for families who have adopted internationally, privately, or are fostering without a view. (on a fee for service basis). Location: Online via Zoom (The Zoom link will be emailed to registrants closer to the event date; please see below for technical requirements).

Time: Tuesday Evenings; 7:00pm to 9:00pm

Schedule: 

• Session 1: October 27
• Session 2: November 3
• Session 3: November 10
• Session 4: November 17
• Session 5: November 24
• Decoding Session: Sessions available after your offering.

Additional Details

Who: This training is for parents and caregivers where a placement has already occurred. Limited spots available.

Cost: This course is being offered at NO cost to participants thanks to funding from the Ontario Ministry of Children, Community and Social Services in partnership with Interwoven Connections.

Technical & set-up requirement: 

• Laptop or desktop computer with functioning webcam and microphone capabilities.
• Strong/stable internet connection with a speed of at least 10mbps
  
• In order to preserve families’ privacy and comfort levels, anyone other than another Pathways participant, should not be in the same room with you while participating in a Pathways Zoom session; this includes children and teens.

Facilitator(s): This program will be facilitated by ACO PACT Program trainers.

Certificate: A certificate of completion is available after the offering is complete.
