Pathways for LGBTQ2+ Families – Fall 2022

Pathways is an 8-session curriculum

UPDATE – Eligibility:

Due to our current funding guidelines, outlined by the Ministry, participants must be an adoptive parent (including parents pre adoption finalization) or a foster-to-adopt parent, to attend our free Pathways program.

Please note – we are working to make Pathways available to other parent types (Customary Care, Kinship, Legal Guardian), and hope to be able to offer them soon.  If you would like to be kept in the loop on when these new offerings become available, please be sure to sign-up for our newsletter.

 

Location: Central Toronto – Venue TBD

Time: Saturdays; 9:00am to 4:00pm

Dates: 

  • Session 1 & 2: November 5, 2022
  • Session 3 & 4: November 12, 2022
  • Session 5 & 6: November 19, 2022
  • Session 7 & 8: November 26, 2022
  • Session 9 (Decoding): December 14, 2022 @ 6:30pm; online via Zoom**

Additional Details

Who: This training is for parents and caregivers where a placement has already occurred.

Cost: This course is being offered at NO cost to participants thanks to funding from the Ontario Ministry of Children, Community and Social Services.

Karen is a registered social worker and the Clinical Director at the ACO. She has worked in the field of children/youth mental health and permanency for over 25 years. She is an internationally recognized trainer in the field of permanency and enjoys co-creating learning and experiences. She is a mom of four children and her family was formed through permanency.

Certificate: A certificate of completion will be provided at the end of the course.
