Youth Networks & Kids Sessions

Supports Focused on Kids & Youth

What is it?

Kid’s Hangout Sessions are opportunities for kids on the adoption/permanency journey to connect and hangout with other kids with similar backgrounds. We provide a safe, fun and interactive environment for kids to meet by playing games, arts and crafts and building on their social connections.

We have virtual groups for kids aged 3-7, 8-11, 12-15 an 16+. While these are fun and interactive sessions, if someone wants to talk adoption/permanency, they are able to. The session leaders are qualified child care providers, some with living experiences and others are connected to the adoption galaxy. All sessions are monitored by the Adoption Council of Ontario Parent Liaison. Questions? Please email us here.

What is the cost?

Our Kids Sessions are available at NO cost, thanks to community fundraising done by some of our amazing youth and the ACO’s 2020 Adoption Awareness month and our 2020 Holiday Giving Campaign which was focused on raising money for our Kids Hangout sessions.

“At bedtime and saying her night time prayers, my daughter said a special prayer for her kids group and how much fun she had.”

“At first I did not want to join, and my Mom kind of made me try it. It was great. I felt so comfortable within a couple of minutes and actually met someone like me.”

“The whole hour was just such a gift, healing without actually being about adoption or loss. It was obvious everyone thoroughly enjoyed themselves with the variety of games and conversational topics.”
